Privacy Policy

We are planning for the future and can assume that a privacy policy will be required in the coming years.

This notice discloses the privacy practices for www.dominionwoollens.ca.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone, especially to anyone from Galt.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Your information will not be used to recruit you or your family members for the current war effort overseas.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about new business matters, new woollen materials/colours or interesting stories concerning our employees such as marriages, new babies or birthday & retirement parties.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time, but you’d be missing out. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the electronic form or telephone number given on our website:

– See what information we have about you, if any

– Change/correct any information we have about you

– Have us delete any information we have about you

– Express any concern you have about our use of your information

Cookies

Traditionally cookies are a tasty treat that we make in the home when we’re not working at the Mill. Shortbread and ginger molasses are both good choices. While we hope cookies are still a thing in the future, we also should tell you about the cookies we’ll send to your computer all the way from the past.

A cookie is a small file that can be placed on your device that allows us to recognize and remember you. It is sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive thing or tablet or portable phone. When you visit our site, we may collect information from you automatically through these cookies or similar magical operations.

The type of cookies we use are:

Functionality cookies – they are used to recognize and remember your preferences or settings when you return to this site, so that we can provide you with a more personalized experience.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via this computer machine, your information is protected both online and in our main office at 215 Queen Street West in Hespeler.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as one of those plastic money cards — aka credit card), that information is changed significantly so that nobody has a clue what it means (encrypted) and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon or “https” in the URL address of your web browser. But currently we don’t ask you to use a money card thing anyway.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, accounts receivable, burling or weaving) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment somewhere high in the sky as far as we understand it (we were told it was on a cloud).

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact our switchboard immediately.
